Camp Friendship is operated by The YMCA of Bristol and because of the knowledge… experience and professionalism of the YMCA leadership team… Camp Friendship is quickly becoming one of the premier youth day camps in the United States.
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
There is plenty for a camper to do outside at Camp Friendship. In addition to hiking… fishing… swimming and watersports… Camp Friendship has an athletic field that provides the opportunity to play soccer… volleyball… softball… football… and more! Camp Friendship also has an archery range… a gaga pit… horseshoes… cornhole… frisbee golf… basketball… pickleball… just to name a few. The hiking trail includes a tire swing… tree house… a life-size checkerboard and a fitness playground. The campers at Camp Friendship will always have plenty to do outdoors… every day.
EDUCATIONAL AND MOTIVATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Camp Friendship offers campers opportunities to learn… create… think and grow with a great arts & crafts program at Tucker Hall. Hammocks are placed on the property for campers to relax… read and think about their life. A genuine authentic Indian Tee-Pee that overlooks South Holston Lake is a great place for group learning… crafts and occasionally a visit from the famous dog Tucker who helps the campers relax… learn and play. Near the Tucker Tee-Pee is a drum pit that was constructed by a local Eagle Scout… that provides unique learning experiences for the campers at Camp Friendship… plus there is a genuine Indian Totem Pole by the lake! A vegetable and flower garden help round out the great educational and motivational experiences at Camp Friendship.
TUCKER HALL AT CAMP FRIENDSHIP
DINING… GAMES… & LOTS OF FUN.
Tucker Hall is a large activity center with a full-service commercial kitchen that guarantees the campers will never go hungry. There are plenty of private restrooms for the campers and Tucker Hall has both indoor and outdoor fireplaces… a fire pit and nearly all of the species of wildlife represented in the area are on display inside Tucker Hall. In addition… nearly every board game is available to play plus a ping pong table… a pool table… foosball… air hockey… cornhole… and shuffleboard. Rain or shine Camp Friendship provides just about everything a camper would want.
HIKING ON TUCKER TRAIL
The campers at Camp Friendship will enjoy the exciting hike on Tucker Trail. The hike is designed to be both educational and fun. There are motivational signs displayed on the entire trail. The large rocks and trees make the view of South Holston Lake a perfect representation of nature and the outdoors. The hammocks… tree house… tire swing and fitness playground make Tucker Trail a great memory for the campers. Camp Friendship is the place to be!
FISHING AT TUCKER POINT
The campers at Camp Friendship will experience the joy of fishing at Tucker Point on South Holston Lake. Whether the campers choose to fish off Tucker Dock or in a canoe or kayak… they will enjoy catching fish of all sizes… plus learn about the native species… especially blue gill… bass and lake trout. The fishing is great at Camp Friendship!
SWIMMING AT TUCKER POINT
There is no better way for the campers to cool off than to take a swim at Tucker Point on South Holston Lake. Life jackets are required and on special days… the campers will take a boat ride to Sportsman’s Marina to play and swim on the inflatable playground. There is no better place to swim than Camp Friendship!
WATERSPORTS AT TUCKER DOCK
Camp Friendship has plenty of watersport’s activities in addition to swimming. There are canoes… kayaks… floats… water boards… tubing…an eight-person banana boat… plus a big yellow water duck that provide great fun during hot summer days. Camp Friendship has a 24-foot pontoon boat and a 19-foot fishing boat to make the watersports program at Camp Friendship a world class opportunity for kids of all ages!
